Driven by a desire to share the beauty and energy of Brazilian culture with the world, Jessica founded Apoteozzy Samba in 2015, after being granted as an Australian Distinguished Talent.

With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to authenticity, she has curated a team of exceptionally talented performers who bring her vision to life with every step, shimmy, and beat. Today, Jessica continues to lead Apoteozzy with boundless enthusiasm and unwavering dedication, ensuring that every performance is a testament to the rich heritage of Brazilian culture.

The name APOTEOZZY is a fusion of the Portuguese word “Apoteose” with the Australian slang Ozzy”. The word apoteose comes from the Greek “apotheosis”, which means the highest point in the development of something, a culmination or divinization.

The choice of name was inspired by the Apotheosis Square, situated at the end of the Sapucaí sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro, the place of arrival of the parades of the samba schools in Rio’s carnival and represents the grand finale.

Graphically, Apoteozzy’s logo design is inspired by the parabolic arc of Apoteose Square, architectural icon of Oscar Niemeyer.
